    Laksa Kedah asli ni ada ciri tertentu. Kuah mestilah pekat dan likat. Dari segi warna tu agak pucat sikit kekelabuan. Ini kerana laksa Kedah asli tidak menggunakan cili kering, tetapi menggunakan cili padi. Disebab cili padi ni dah pedas, maka pengunaanya cukupla sedikit sahaja.
