Louise bourgeois - Biography

The three fused heads are reminiscent of Cerberus in Greek mythology where each head often represents birth, youth, and old age; the cycle of life which preoccupied Bourgeois.

They had three sons, one was adopted.

Bronze, stainless steel, marble 2003 Spiral Woman Spiral Woman is a soft sculpted, hanging doll, showcasing Bourgeois longstanding interest in both doll making and the spiral form, as seen in the much earlier Femme Volage 1951.
